Grace Poole

Grace Poole is a servant employed at Thornfield whose exact role and responsibilities remain mysterious throughout much of Jane Eyre's time at the house. She is mentioned in connection with strange occurrences and is charged with duties that are whispered about but never fully explained to Jane Eyre. Her presence in the household is acknowledged, yet she remains largely unseen and unknown, adding to the atmosphere of mystery and hidden secrets that permeates Thornfield.
