Miss de Bourgh

Miss de Lady Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine) exists in the shadow of her formidable mother, Lady Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine) de Lady Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine), who exerts complete dominion over her household and her daughter's life. Sickly and withdrawn, Miss de Lady Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine) spends most of her time at Rosings, the grand family estate, where her fragile constitution limits her activities and social engagement. Though she possesses considerable wealth and connections through her mother, her physical weakness and lack of assertiveness mean she exercises little real influence. She is occasionally seen in company with her mother when Lady Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine) makes social calls, but contributes little to conversation and appears content to listen rather than speak. Her prospects are tied entirely to her mother's ambitions and plans, making her less a character of independent will than a dutiful but subdued accomplice to Lady Catherine de Bourgh (Lady Catherine)'s social machinations.
