Dick Slagle

Dick Slagle is a Pencey Prep student who was once Holden Caulfield's roommate. Holden Caulfield remembers him with a mixture of contempt and indifference, viewing him as lower-class or culturally inferior in Holden Caulfield's snobby estimation. Slagle represents one of the many people in Holden Caulfield's life whom he has rejected or moved away from, contributing to his sense of isolation.
